Google has yanked dozens of apps from its Google Play retailer after figuring out that they embody a software program aspect that surreptitiously harvests knowledge.
The Panamanian firm that wrote the code, Measurement Methods S. de R.L., is linked by company data and net registrations to a Virginia protection contractor that does cyberintelligence, network-defense and intelligence-intercept work for U.S. national-security companies.
